De 13-jarige Brian is de enige passagier in een klein vliegtuig boven de wildernis van Noord-Canada. De piloot krijgt een hartaanval en Brian probeert voorzichtig te landen. Hij weet heelhuids het vliegtuigje te verlaten. Maar dan begint de survival, zonder iets of iemand bouwt Brian zijn hut, zoekt hij voedsel en voert strijd tegen allerlei gevaren.
