Als de vader van de zeventienjarige Hu een baan krijgt in Thailand, vertrekt ze met haar ouders vanuit China naar Bangkok. Ze gaat daar naar de Internationale School en al snel is ze de beste van haar klas.
Ze is dan ook stomverbaasd als haar leraar Engels haar op een dag meldt dat haar Engels dermate slecht is dat ze bijlessen nodig heeft.
Hij wil die wel geven, bij hem thuis.....
